Armed forces cruise discount, explained
1. Do armed forces personnel get a discount on cruises?
Armed forces personnel qualify for a real armed forces cruise discount through the Sailing Club, which applies across cruise lines such as Virgin Voyages, MSC Cruises and Royal Caribbean. Membership itself is free.
2. Is there a cruise discount for military veterans?
Usually. Veterans can typically join on the same basis as serving personnel, though it's worth confirming your eligibility with us before booking.
3. Can serving armed forces personnel get a cruise discount?
Yes — this includes serving members of the British Army, Royal Navy, Royal Marines and Royal Air Force.
4. Which cruise lines offer a discount for armed forces personnel?
The cruise lines shown on this page — Virgin Voyages, MSC Cruises, Disney Cruise Line, P&O Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Cunard, Princess Cruises, Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean — each carry their own members' rate.
5. How much can armed forces personnel save on a cruise?
The saving isn't the same on every line — join for free and you'll see the figure that applies to the one you want.
6. Can family travel on my discount?
Your family can travel with you, and in most cases so can friends.
7. What exactly does the discount cover — cabin or fare?
That depends which cruise line you choose. Virgin Voyages applies the discount to the entire cabin price, while Norwegian Cruise Line applies it to the cruise fare alone.
8. How does booking work once I've signed up?
Membership gives you access to a broad range of cruise discounts. If you've already picked your sailing, request your unique discount code. If you need guidance, or want to bundle flights and a hotel, our team is ready to help.
9. Can I use the discount more than once?
Yes, your membership can be used as many times as you like.
10. Do I need to book through Rock The Boat to get the discount?
Yes, the offers are only available when you book with us directly.
11. Will my membership run out at some point?
No, your membership never expires.
