NHS Cruise Discount FAQs
1. Do NHS staff get a discount on cruises?
Yes. Everyone working for the NHS can join the Sailing Club free and get an NHS cruise discount on cruise lines such as Virgin Voyages, MSC Cruises and Royal Caribbean.
2. Is the discount available to retired NHS staff?
Usually, yes — retired NHS staff are generally still eligible, though it's worth checking your circumstances with us before booking.
3. Does it matter which NHS trust or role I work in?
No, the discount is open to NHS staff in any role or trust across the UK, not limited to one department or employer.
4. Which cruise lines offer a discount for NHS staff?
Nine cruise lines feature on this page — Virgin Voyages, MSC Cruises, Disney Cruise Line, P&O Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Cunard, Princess Cruises, Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean — and NHS staff get their own rate on each.
5. How much can NHS staff save on a cruise?
The saving depends on which cruise line you pick. Join for free and your NHS cruise discount will be shown clearly for the one you choose.
6. Can my family come on the discount?
Family members are welcome on your discount, and friends can usually come too.
7. Does the discount apply to the whole cabin, or just the cruise fare?
It depends on the cruise line — with Virgin Voyages the discount covers the whole cabin price, while with Norwegian Cruise Line it applies just to the cruise fare.
8. How do I actually book my cruise once I've joined?
As a member, you'll have access to a wide range of cruise holiday discounts. If you already know which sailing you want, simply request your unique discount code. If you'd rather get help choosing a cruise, or want to add flights and a hotel, our team is on hand.
9. Is there a limit to how often I can use my membership?
No, you can use your membership as many times as you like.
10. Can I get the discount if I book directly with the cruise line?
No, the discount is only available when you book through us.
11. Does my membership expire?
No, once you're a member, it's yours for good.
